Up to 300 Russian Federation military, as well as no more than four ships, can be the basis.
Russia and Sudan have reached understanding each other about the construction of the Russian Naval base in the country. This was reported by Sudan Foreign Minister Ali Yusef Sharif, Rossmi reported Wednesday, February 12.
“We have achieved understanding each other on this issue, so the question is quite simple.
The Russian Navy’s material and technical support agreement with Sudan was signed in 2020, when the previous leadership operated in the country. However, the document is still not ratified.
According to the terms of the agreement, up to 300 Russian military, as well as no more than four ships, at the same time can be the basis.
Sudan has a strategic location on the coast of the Red Sea, which makes it an important partner for countries interested in having a naval in the region. This agreement can significantly strengthen Russia’s position in Africa.
