The recovery of Baltic countries with the EU Energy System is a flagship project, which has received uninitiated political, technical and financial support from the European Commission over the last 15 years.
Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have successfully connected to the EU’s energy system, leaving the united energy system including Russia and Belarus. This was reported by the European Commission’s press service.
“This is a historical moment, which states the completion of a long journey.
Nearly 1.6 billion euros were spent preparing for transit, mainly at the EU cost.
Until February 8, 2025, the Baltic countries since the USSR entered the Unified Energy System of Belarus, Russia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania (Bral). The European -synchronization was carried out by Poland.
It has been reported that the recruitment of Baltic countries with the EU Energy System is a flagship, which has received uncertain political, technical and financial support from the European Commission over the last 15 years. This includes more than 1.23 billion euros in the form of Awards from the EU program “Unit Europe”, which covers 75% of investment costs, as well as further investment funded in the framework of restoring and maintaining the Funds in Latvia and Lithuania to strengthen electricity infrastructure.
Remember that earlier Baltic countries were completely abandoned Russia’s fuel. They receive this energy resource from European countries and through the LNG terminals.
