Israeli doctors have healed a 22 -Year -old patient suffering from an unusual disease for many years -“orgasm allergies”, reports Bild.
Every sexual intercourse or even masturbation caused her to have flu -like symptoms: weakness, headaches, runny nose and severe fatigue. Therefore, the young man avoided sexual activity, he had psychological problems and he was treated even antidepressants, but was unsuccessful.
Specialists of the Allergology and Immunology Lin Medical Center clinic in Haifa have made a rare diagnosis – posturgazmic syndrome (POIS). It is a condition in which the body causes an allergic reaction to its own proteins, which is released during orgasm.
The solution was found thanks to the drug Omalismab, which is commonly used to treat allergies. After the course of therapy, all the symptoms disappeared, but it was worth canceling the drug – and the disease returned. Now the patient is taking the medication on an ongoing basis and leads to a normal life.
Posturgazmic syndrome is very rare – it is first described in 2002. The causes of the disease have not been fully studied, but scientists suggest that it relates to a reaction to sperm proteins or hormone imbalance. The only known method of treatment is to take anti -allergic drugs before each ejaculation.
