On February 6, the Finnish government adopted a resolution to tighten the requirements for entry into the country for a berry collection. This was discussed in a statement by the Finland government, European reality report.
Berry foreign collectors are now entering Finland as periodic workers. Thanks to this change, it is easier to control compliance with collectors’ rights and guarantee them a sufficient level of income.

Earlier, foreign berries could come to Finland for Schengen Tourist visas, which allowed them to be in the country a maximum of three months. However, in 2024, the Finnish authorities, in the framework of efforts to prevent labor operations, pointed out that the collection of wild berries was a bieth -based activity and should be regulated by -with -with – Labor law.
