The international coalition, accompanied by 41 countries and the European council, helped to return to nearly 600 children a year in Ukraine. This was announced by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets Sunday, February 2.
Ombudman noted that exactly a year ago by Ukraine and Canada created an international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children. Today, 41 countries and the European council have joined him, and the invitation remains open to all who want to help.
“Since 2014, after conquest of Crimea, Russia systematically abducted Ukrainian children, eliminating them with national identity. After a full aggression in 2022, this policy gained a mass nature. Thanks to the Efforts of Ukraine and international partners last year, nearly 600 children were restored, but thousands remained far from her homes, ”Lubinets added.
He expressed gratitude to all the countries who joined the coalition.
Remember that Ukraine was able to return to 1002 children from Russian territory and temporarily occupied lands, but was forced to move nearly 20 thousand of the Russian Federation.
