“The company has not seen any evidence of attack,” Rheinmetall said, adding that local authorities in Spain are investigating the cause of the explosion.
Production capacities were not injured as a result of the incident, there were no production losses.
As a result of the incident, six people were injured – one person received serious injuries, another – moderate severity, four lungs.
Rheinmetall’s subsidiary produces gunpowder for military and civilian needs at the factory in Viekho, where 427 works.
