Ukrainians can again bring their children to the UK. This became possible after the government canceled changes in the rules of the visa.
In February 2024, the British government changed the visa rules without prior notice. Ukrainians, without the right to permanent residence in the country, could no longer accept relatives in the framework of the “House for Ukraine” program.
Charitable organizations said that strengthening the rules of the visa led to the separation of families, and some desperate parents were forced to illegally bring their children to the United Kingdom.
Today, the government announced that the parent or legal guardian who is located in the UK for any of the visa schemes available to Ukrainians can apply for the sponsorship of their child as part of the “Houses for Ukraine” program.
Charitable organizations called this “a great relief for divided families.” Nevertheless, this will not help those who have been forced to divorce other family members, including brothers and sisters, parents or partners, in an interview with BBC, general director of the Rights of the Rights of Dore-Olivia Vikolo.
According to Great Britain, the houses for Ukraine arrived in 2022 since the beginning of the Russian invasion in 2022.
