Law enforcement officials and customs authorities of 30 European countries, with Europol support, conducted a special operation of Shield V, aimed at fighting fake drugs. As a result, 418 people were detained, four underground laboratories were removed and more than 11 million euros were seized. This was reported by Europol.
The European Operation Shield V, which lasted from April to November 2024, made it possible to prevent 418 people and disclose 52 organized criminal groups engaged in the manufacture and marketing of fake drugs. In conjunction with customs authorities and law enforcement officials of 30 European countries, four underground laboratories are liquid to produce fake medical products.
Based on the results of the operation, more than 426 thousand packages of fake drugs, 4111 kg of powder and raw materials, 108 liters of liquid ingredients, about 175 thousand bottles and ampoules, as well as more than 4.6 million Tablets and tablets are seized. In addition, 4083 anti -doping inspection is carried out during sports competitions and outside of them.
Representatives of the European Directorate for the Prevention of Abuse and Fraud (OLAF), the European Department for Intellectual Property (Euipo), Frontex, as well as the World Anti -Doping Agency (WADA) and National Medical Medical Agencies have joined the operation. The leading group of special operations is made up of representatives of the French law enforcement agencies, Greece, Italy and Spain.
Earlier, European law enforcement officials managed to show the activities of a criminal group of 12 people engaged in smuggling weapons from Slovakia and Ukraine in Poland.
While the civil guard of Spain, in collaboration with country and Europol partners, has revealed a criminal network involved in a large-scale smuggling of drugs from South America to the EU.
