The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police identified the agent group of Russian special services, which received a task for a series of terrorist acts in the Odessa region.

According to the case, the terrorists were going to set fire to several service cars, and then, when the police appeared at the place of fire, remotely to undermine a home -made explosive device.

SBU and the National Police detained the attackers at the stage of preparation for terrorist attack.
They should be released during the investigation of another crime – the murder of a volunteer from Odessa, which took place on January 20 of this year. Then the attackers set fire to a local activist near his house, and when he went out to put out the fire, they activated a home explosive device hidden in a backpack, which lay nearby.
The detainees captured mobile phones with evidence of crime.
According to the investigation, the attackers were three drug addicts from 23 to 45 years old, as well as their 46-year-old accomplice, who previously served their sentences for theft and robbery.
The recidivist was found separately from the rest of the group and was responsible for the production of explosives and its styling in shelters.
Currently, the detainees were suspects in the framework of the 3rd part of art. 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (a terrorist act that led to the death of a person). The attackers are in custody. They are threatened with life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
