Prime Minister Denis Schmigal reacted to the petition with a request to impose sanctions against Andrei Portnov.
The Cabinet of Ministers examined the application calling for NSDC sanctions against the former deputy head of the Yanukovych administration Andrei Portnov. The government did not find information about the grounds for imposing restrictions. This is indicated in the response of the Prime Minister Denis Schmigal to appeal.
According to the head of the government, in order to consider the application and provide conclusions, was entrusted to the Ministry of Economics, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the police, the Bureau of Economic Security, the DBR, the National Anti -Corruption Bureau, the SBU and the Office of the Prosecutor General. According to the results of this assignment, the Ministry of Economics concluded that the petition does not contain circumstances that can be considered as grounds for applying sanctions in accordance with the law.
Schmigal noted that US decisions on sanctions are not a specific basis for the use of sanctions.
Officials also believe that the petition does not contain information that indicates Portnov’s terrorist activity in the meaning of “terrorist activity” in accordance with the law on the fight against terrorism, which can be considered as grounds for the use of sanctions.
The Ministry of the Interior, the National Police, the Child, the National Anti -Corruption Bureau SBU reported the Ministry of Economics of the lack of information about the existence of grounds for using special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) to a person in a petition – the answer says.
The government emphasized that people who have facts who can testify in a criminal offense have the right to apply to law enforcement officials.
We will recall that on January 11 of this year, an appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers calling for the proposals of the NSDC to use sanctions about the former deputy administration of the former president Viktor Yanukovych Andrit Portnav was necessary for considering 25 thousand votes.
