Previously, the Russian Federation supplied Germany with 40% coal and 40% oil. From August, coal imports will stop, and from the new year – oil.
Germany will refuse to import Russian coal from August 1, and oil from December 31, 2022. This was stated by Germany’s Deputy Minister of Finance Joerg Kukis, reports on Wednesday, July 13, Reuters.
“In a few weeks, we will abandon Russian coal. Everyone knows the history of the Druzhba oil pipeline, which has already become an instrument of the Soviet empire in Eastern Europe. Leaving this hope is not a easy thing, but this is what we will achieve in a few months, ”Kukis said at the Sydney Energy Forum in Australia.
According to him, Germany will refuse to import Russian coal from August 1, and oil – from December 31 of this year.
He also noted that earlier the Russian Federation had supplied 40% of coal and 40% of oil to Germany.
The deputy minister stressed that the main task of the German government is to fill the huge hole that will remain when the European Union rejects 158 billion cubic meters of gas per year supplied by Russia.
A day before this it was also reported that India and China had sharply reduced their oil purchases from the Russian Federation. At the same time, Russia continues to earn $ 159 million per week from oil exports.
