The head of the Kremlin proposes to discuss issues of interest to both Moscow and Washington, but “taking into account the current situation.”
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has expressed a desire to meet with American President Donald Trump. This was announced by Interfax on Friday. January 24.
“Probably, in fact, we better meet, based on the facts today, to talk calmly in all areas of interest to both the United States and Russia. We are ready,” he said.
Putin noted that the possibility of such a meeting “mainly depends on the decisions and choices of the current American administration.”
“We see the statements of the current president about readiness for joint work, we are always open for it,” the Russian leader noted and added that he and Trump have “business, pragmatic and trusting relations”.
At the same time, Putin once again lied about the alleged impossibility of negotiations with Ukraine regarding the end of the war due to the relevant law.
“But so far this order has not been canceled, it is difficult to say that they can start and most importantly – these negotiations have completed it. With the Ukrainian ban the parties to these negotiations are quite difficult,” he said.
As you know, in early October 2022, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree that makes negotiations with Putin impossible, but negotiations with Russia are possible.
The day before, Trump said he intended to meet with Putin. US efforts to achieve a peaceful settlement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation “have been realized”, assured the American leader.
