The Kremlin responded to Trump’s words on oil

The cause of the war lies in threats to Russia’s national security, and not in economic reasons.

Reducing oil prices will not contribute to the end of the Russian war against Ukraine. This was stated by Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a briefing on Friday, January 24.

“No, this conflict does not depend on oil prices,” he said in response to questions from journalists.

According to Peskov, the cause of the war lies in threats to Russia’s national security and the “unwillingness” of the United States and European countries to listen to Moscow’s anxiety, and not in economic reasons.

“This conflict is happening because of the threat to the national security of the Russian Federation, because of the threat to the Russians living in the popular territories, and because of the unwillingness and complete rejection of Hindi because of the oil prices”, added he.

The day before, US President Donald Trump, speaking at the forum in Davos, called on Saudi Arabia and OPEC to reduce the price of oil again. In his opinion, this will help to quickly end the Russian war against Ukraine.

In this regard, the president’s office said that Ukraine proposed to set a maximum price for Russian oil at $ 30 per barrel.
