A mine accident in Polish Silesia kills one miner and injures 15 others. The Associated Press reported this on Thursday, January 23.
The incident occurred at the Knurov-Szczyglowice mine the day before, on January 22. At a depth of 850 meters, methane ignited.
One of the miners died. Nine miners received severe burns and were taken to a special hospital department. Five others were taken to other hospitals.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
We remind you that on the night of January 22 in the Dnepropetrovsk region, as a result of an accident, 135 miners were trapped underground. The rescue operation was successfully completed.
