An investigation has been launched into the shooting of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Donetsk region by the enemy.
The press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General reported this today, January 23.
Under the procedural leadership of the Office of the Prosecutor General, a pre-trial investigation into criminal proceedings has been launched into the commission of a war crime that resulted in the death of people (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the department said.
It is noted that, according to preliminary data, during the assault on the positions of Ukrainian troops in the Donetsk region, the occupiers captured six servicemen of the Defense Forces and subsequently shot them.
The execution of prisoners of war is a serious violation of the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War and is classified as a serious international crime, the prosecutor’s office notes.
Investigative actions are being carried out aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crime and the persons involved in its commission.
Let us remind you that another video has appeared on the network about yet another cynical execution of unarmed Ukrainian prisoners of war by the racists.
