Maria Zakharova expressed the hope that the new White House administration will “correct the mistakes” of former President Joe Biden.
The possible deployment of Western peacekeeping forces in Ukraine is “definitely unacceptable” for Russia. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, at a briefing on Thursday, January 23.
He emphasized that Moscow paid attention to “circulating reports” about the intentions of Western countries to deploy their troops to ensure the implementation of the peace agreement.
“I want to remind you that the intervention of NATO forces in Ukraine threatens an uncontrolled escalation of the conflict and this is definitely unacceptable for Russia,” Zakharova said.
He also expressed hope that the new White House administration will correct the mistakes of former President Joe Biden.
“It seems to me that the current administration of President Trump has repeatedly stated, recognized and argued that the situation in Ukraine is the result of the mistakes of the previous administration, and then, perhaps, these mistakes of the previous administration should be corrected , ” Zakharova said.
Let’s remember that on January 22, Donald Trump called on Vladimir Putin to conclude an agreement to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible, otherwise he will impose high taxes, tariffs and sanctions. Now the Kremlin has responded to Trump’s threats.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry welcomed Trump’s “strong statement” on the need to end Russia’s war against our country.
