US President Donald Trump has allowed tougher sanctions against Russia.
It is possible that new sanctions pressure will be applied if the aggressor country does not want to negotiate with Ukraine to end the war. Trump stated this during a press conference at the White House yesterday.
The new head of the United States again emphasized that Russia’s war against Ukraine would never have started if he were president. He also accused former White House leader Joe Biden of incompetence. Trump said he had a “strong agreement with Putin.”
Trump also announced his readiness to meet with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky then, “if they didn’t want it.”
We are working on this. We are communicating with Zelensky and will talk with Putin soon. We’ll see how everything works out,” he said.
Let us recall that on January 20, United States President Donald Trump signed his first executive orders. In particular, he ordered the US withdrawal from the World Health Organization and the Paris Climate Agreement. He also signed an executive order temporarily suspending all U.S. foreign aid programs for 90 days pending reviews to determine whether they meet his policy goals.
