The initiative is an important step in recognizing common threats faced by both countries, the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel said.

Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel, in a meeting with the Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevgeny Korniychuk on Tuesday, January 21, proposed to transfer Russian weapons captured by IDF soldiers to the Ukrainian side . This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel on Facebook.

“During the meeting, the Ambassador thanked his interlocutor for his proposal to transfer to Ukraine the Russian-made weapons obtained by the IDF in Lebanon or somewhere from the enemies of Israel. The Ukrainian side expressed hope for a positive resolution of this issue,” the statement said.

The parties discussed current common challenges for both countries, in particular, military cooperation between Iran and Russia, which poses a threat to the national security of both Ukraine and Israel.

Let’s recall that Israel launched an air strike on military targets near the coastal city of Tartus in Syria. The ammunition depots there exploded.
