The new US president says the island is needed “for international security,” citing threats from the Russian Federation and China.

The US should buy Greenland for “international security” reasons. We are talking about threats from Russia and China. US President Donald Trump said this, Politico reports.

“Greenland is a good place that we need for international security and I’m sure that Denmark will agree, because it costs a lot of money to hold it,” explained the new American leader.

According to him, Greenland is needed not only by the United States – it is important “for international security.”

“There are Russian boats everywhere, there are Chinese boats everywhere – warships – and they (the Danes – ed.) can’t control it,” Trump said.

Recall that Trump previously said he had a “great” phone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
