Kyiv not only stopped gas transit, but also “refused negotiations,” the Hungarian prime minister said.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban criticized Ukraine’s decision to stop the transfer of Russian gas from 2025 and assured that Budapest is considering the possibility of a response to this move. He said this at a press conference during a visit to Bratislava on Tuesday, January 21, the Hungarian publication Index reports.
The official claimed that Ukraine not only stopped moving gas through its territory, but also allegedly refused negotiations, which means “it threatens Hungary, Slovakia and the entire region.”
“Kyiv is no longer in the saddle secure enough to allow this. If they remain aggressive and aggressive, they will lose. We will be angry and fight,” Orban assured.
He believes that “the way (Ukrainians) are trying to control and shape relations with Central European countries today is unacceptable.”
Orban also said he opposes Ukraine’s early membership in the European Union because it would “damage the Hungarian economy.” While joining NATO in general “would lead to a war between the Alliance and Russia.”
We remind you that the European Union is considering options to bypass Hungary’s possible veto on the extension of sanctions against Russia.
