There are now so many brigades in the Ukrainian Armed Forces that there is a problem with trained commanders.
Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky said this in a conversation with Andrey Tsaplienko.
Issues of brigade rotation: replacements and conclusions for restoring combat effectiveness. How to carry it out if you have neither a reserve nor a brigade? Of course, the process of adapting a new brigade itself is a complex process. Complex process why? Because we now have so many brigades that, in principle, there is a problem with trained commanders who can lead this brigade. Well, the brigade itself must acquire combat traditions. Of course, this is not a simple matter. After all, we need a team that is morally prepared and united for difficult actions,” explained Syrsky.
At the same time, he noted that all teams went through a certain period of adaptation.
You need to hold out, hold on, and then they show results no worse than the old teams,” he added.
Syrsky recalled that at the beginning of a full-scale war in Ukraine there were about 12 brigades.
Then their number increased. Of course, you don’t need to create a lot of them. The General Staff carried out calculations on how many brigades and units are needed for successful defense and offensive operations,” summarized the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Syrsky also stated in this conversation that Russian troops have halved the consumption rates of artillery shells. These are the results of Ukrainian strikes deep into the territory of the aggressor country.
