MEPs will discuss several important issues of international politics, security and digital technology.
During the four-day session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, which starts on Monday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk will present the priorities of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council. In particular, Warsaw wants to focus on issues of European security, support for Ukraine and strengthening of the EU’s defense capabilities. Polish Radio reported this on Sunday, January 19.
Journalists indicate that during these four days the European deputies intend to discuss:

Relations with the United States after the inauguration of Donald Trump.

Support for Ukraine in the context of the war with Russia.

Threats from Russia, including attempts to destroy infrastructure in the Baltic Sea.

Resolution on Russia’s manipulation of history and narratives to justify aggression against Ukraine.

Repressions in Belarus
Representatives will also touch on the implementation of the EU Digital Services Regulation (DSA), content moderation on platforms, including X (formerly Twitter).
The EP will also raise the topic of investigating the facts of Hungarian espionage to the representatives of the EU’s governing bodies.
Other issues include the EU’s relationship with China, the Middle East and climate change issues.
In Strasbourg, members of the European Parliament on December 19 adopted a resolution on the deteriorating human rights situation in Crimea, which is temporarily occupied by Russia.
Earlier, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the European Union plans to open clusters as part of negotiations with Ukraine on its accession to the EU next year, based on Ukraine’s demonstrated achievements on the path to membership. .
