A wooden church built in 1877 burned down in the Rivne region. The event took place in the village of Vysotsk, Sarnensky district.
The press service of the State Emergency Service reported this today, January 19.
The fire was reported to rescuers at 5.04.
Firefighters arriving at the scene of the fire saw a wooden church building completely engulfed in flames. Everything indicated a late discovery and reporting of the fire. Fire extinguishing agents were immediately supplied for liquidation, the department notes.
The fire was localized at 06.15 and extinguished at 15.23.
The fire destroyed a wooden building measuring 30×15 m and the property of the church. There are no casualties or injuries. 5 units of fire equipment and 17 rescuers were involved in the liquidation. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are being established, the State Emergency Service added.
