The SBU is conducting searches at the home of pro-Russian propagandist Max Nazarov.
This was reported by “Public” with reference to sources. Previously, Max Nazarov (real name Nazar Diorditsa) worked on the channels of Viktor Medvedchuk and Evgeny Muraev.
After the invasion began, he continued to justify Russia’s aggression and invite pro-Kremlin experts to broadcast on his YouTube channel.
SBU investigators placed him under suspicion for justifying Russian aggression.
The issue of choosing Nazarov as a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved. He faces up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The official statement of the SBU states:
The Security Service of Ukraine has collected a large-scale evidence base and received independent expert findings confirming the anti-Ukrainian activities of the ex-host of the sanctioned TV channels “Nash” and NewsOne, owned by Viktor Medvedchuk and Yevgeny Muraev.
Based on the case materials, after the outbreak of a full-scale war, the defendant created his own channel on the YouTube video hosting service, where he continued to disseminate the Kremlin’s narratives.
To do this, the blogger regularly invited pro-Russian “political experts” to his broadcasts, a significant part of whom are now hiding in Russia.
During the interview, both the author himself and the studio guests repeatedly tried to justify Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, as well as the war crimes of the Russians, including missile attacks on the civilian infrastructure of our state.
A frequent guest of the defendant was another pro-Kremlin blogger, who had already received suspicion from SBU investigators in February 2024.
Then the court chose a preventive measure for him – house arrest, but subsequently the blogger continued his subversive activities in the interests of Moscow.
Both defendants publicly tried to discredit Ukraine in the international arena and undermined the socio-political situation within our state.
A forensic linguistic examination initiated by the SBU confirmed the facts of crimes committed by both bloggers. Security Service investigators informed them of the suspicion on CC. 2, 3 tbsp. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the defendants in the form of detention is being decided. They face up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.
