Trump said he expected the Supreme Court’s decision. Asked if he would take action to try to lift the lockdown, Trump said he would decide soon.
US President-elect Donald Trump said he will soon make a decision on the operation of the TikTok media platform. He revealed this on the social network Truth Social and CNN comments.
As reported, the Supreme Court today upheld the current law that requires TikTok to be blocked unless China’s ByteDance sells it to an American company.
Trump said the Supreme Court’s decision was expected and everyone should respect it.
“My decision on TikTok will be made in the not too distant future, but I need time to evaluate the situation. Stay tuned,” he wrote.
As Trump told CNN, “ultimately it’s all up to me.”
Asked if he would act to try to lift the lockdown, he said he would decide soon.
“Congress gave me the decision, so I will make the decision,” Trump added.
It can be remembered that Trump opposed the ban on TikTok because he said he received billions of views on the platform during his presidential campaign.
