In the Odessa region, a Russian agent was detained who was correcting missile and drone attacks on local locations of the Defense Forces.
For secrecy, he grew his hair long and posed as a girl – disguised as women’s clothing, he photographed military installations and recorded their coordinates. This was reported by the press service of the SBU and the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
It is noted that the detainee is a 26-year-old unemployed resident of Izmail.
According to the investigation, he consciously and voluntarily decided to assist the enemy:
- via Telegram, he established contact with a representative of the Russian special services and agreed to cooperate, promising to transfer information about military facilities in the Izmail region for money;
- walked around the area and secretly recorded Ukrainian objects, and then transmitted a report to the curator in the form of text messages, photographs and marks on electronic maps.
Among the enemy’s potential targets were bases of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service and border guards in the port city of Izmail, the SBU said. – The occupiers planned to use the information received to carry out a new series of air attacks in the Odessa region.
The enemy agent was exposed in time by those who documented his crimes and was detained at his place of residence.
During the search, a mobile phone containing evidence of his intelligence and subversive activities in favor of Russia was confiscated from the detainee. He was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art.
The attacker is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property, the SBU said.
