The leader of the European Solidarity faction, Petro Poroshenko, said that he was not allowed to go on a business trip abroad. Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk noted that the deputy’s business trip was planned for other dates.
Stefanchuk explained to the Rada press service that Poroshenko had permission to participate in the meeting of the Political Assembly of the European People’s Party (January 13-14 in Brussels). However, according to Stefanchuk, the people’s deputy was present in the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada on the date when he was supposed to leave, and on the evening of January 15, after the end of the assembly meeting, he attempted to leave.
Poroshenko has not yet publicly commented on this. There have been previous incidents when he stated that he was not allowed to go abroad for official meetings.
