The Verkhovna Rada generally voted for the bill on sending units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine abroad during martial law.
317 parliamentarians voted for draft law No. 12378 on the regulation of certain issues regarding the deployment and stay of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine abroad during the period of martial law. The decision to send units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to other states is made by the president, but with the submission that this be approved by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported this on Telegram.
The law stipulates that in order to send military personnel abroad, information will be provided on the tasks, the total number of units, the type and composition of their weapons, military equipment, subordination, duration of stay and conditions for their extension. This will apply to units of the Armed Forces that, before the law came into force, were sent to another state and were located on its territory.
However, this does not apply to cases where the military repels armed aggression on the territory of the aggressor state.
Let us remind you that on January 15, the Verkhovna Rada extended martial law and mobilization in Ukraine for another 90 days – until February 8 and May 9, 2025. This is the 14th time since a full-scale invasion that the Ukrainian parliament has made appropriate decisions.
