Russian agents tried to carry out a terrorist attack at the railway station in Dnieper.
Counterintelligence of the SBU and the National Police detained FSB agents who were trying to blow up a fuel tank at the Ukrzaliznytsia railway station. Two saboteurs planted an improvised explosive device on the track where the tank stood. However, law enforcement officers neutralized the explosives, which the defendants planned to activate remotely. The Security Service of Ukraine reported this on January 13.
The attackers turned out to be two drug addicts from Dnieper, aged 23 and 36, who lived in a civil marriage. They looked for money for drugs in thematic telegram channels, where they came to the attention of the special services of the aggressor country.
According to the instructions of the infidels, the attackers made the SVP in their own home. And they purchased the explosive components via the Internet.
The actions of law enforcement officers were qualified under Part 2 of Art. 15, part 2 art. 258 (attempted terrorist act committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed. Those detained face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
