In the Zhytomyr region, on the eve of the funeral of a dead soldier, his ring was lost. Eduard Rosca’s wife noticed the absence of jewelry on the man’s finger after taking the body of the defender from the morgue. The family filed a police report. Volunteer Alexandra Shamovich reported the incident.
Eduard Roshok, junior sergeant of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, died during a combat mission in the Russian Federation. Before the funeral, his wife noticed that the wedding ring, which was on his wife’s finger before the funeral, was gone. At the same time, a trace of a ring and a scratch remained on the finger, indicating that it was forcibly removed.
Shamovich said that during the preparation for the funeral, the wedding ring was in place, but after the body was delivered from the morgue in Malin, there was no jewelry on the finger. According to him, the loss of the wedding ring is a shock to the family and siblings of the deceased, because for them it is an important symbol.
It is known that the body of the defender was taken from the morgue in Sumy with a ring – this was confirmed by witnesses. The body was subsequently taken to the city of Malin. The local morgue is located at Bondarika Street, 17.
“It happened in the morgue of the city of Malin at Bondarika Street 17. They brought it with a ring – there were witnesses the day before the funeral also had a wedding ring – the husband’s own eyes saw the coffin with the body taken out of the morgue , the ring is no longer on the finger,” – explained the volunteer.
The family didn’t have time to deal with it right away – they had to go to the funeral. So Edward was buried without jewelry, wrote Telegraph.
As noted by family members and siblings, the process of preparing the body also took place under unusual circumstances. The coffin was taken directly to the street, which is contrary to the usual procedure – this is usually done in the morgue, as mentioned by the local TCC.
The family has now lodged a complaint with the police, who have launched an investigation into the incident. At the time the news was published, no information about the progress of the investigation had been received from law enforcement agencies.
For their part, local authorities and representatives of the morgue do not provide clear information. Mortuary officials said they did not know who last handled the body before it was given to the family, and TCC declined to comment. The local funeral service also does not provide any additional information.
At the reception of the community of the Malinsky territory, they explained that the hospital and morgue at the indicated address are also served by the community of Chopovitsky. Therefore, they do not know the real truth of letting go of the hero.
At the same time, the chairman of the Chopovitsky community, Mikhail Filonenko, explained to the injured wife that he was not able to provide any assistance except for monitoring the fair progress of the investigation.
