South Korean intelligence says North Korea is forcing its soldiers to commit suicide to avoid capture.
The losses of North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region continue to grow and have reached 3,000 people. This was reported by South Korean news agency Yonhap, citing a briefing from the country’s intelligence.
According to the National Intelligence Service of South Korea, the total military losses of the DPRK in the Kursk region are about 3,000 people: 300 killed and 2,700 wounded.
South Korean intelligence attributes the massive casualties of North Korean soldiers to their “lack of understanding of modern warfare,” including their “unnecessary shooting at long-range drones.”

The North Korean soldiers captured in Ukraine have not expressed any intention to defect to South Korea.
According to South Korean intelligence, the two captured North Korean soldiers are from the General Reconnaissance Bureau, North Korea’s main military intelligence agency.
