Ukrainian defense forces hit a Russian oil depot in Engels, Saratov region of Russia.
On Wednesday night, January 8, units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, attacked a hostile target. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on Facebook on January 8.
In the area of the Kristall Oil Products Storage Base, numerous explosions were recorded and a large-scale fire occurred.
This oil depot supplied fuel to the Engels-2 military airfield, where the enemy’s strategic aviation was based. Its defeat creates serious logistical problems for the strategic aviation of the Russian occupiers and significantly reduces their ability to strike Ukraine.
The General Staff added that more detailed information about the results of combat work is being clarified.
Let us remind you that on the night of December 8, drones in Engels heard about 25 powerful explosions, the flashes from which were visible in many parts of the city. Later, a large fire broke out in the area of the oil depot. ”
