Biden has unceremoniously blocked oil and gas development in more than 625 million acres of coastal waters.
The newly elected President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has accused the current American leader, Joe Biden, of allegedly deliberately doing everything possible to make the transition of power as difficult as possible. The politician wrote this on Monday, January 6, on his social network Truth Social.
In particular, he criticized the latest orders of the Biden administration on climate and oil production.
As CNN remembers, Joe Biden has indefinitely blocked the development of oil and gas in more than 625 million hectares of coastal waters. The Biden administration explained this by saying that it is not necessary to meet the state’s energy needs and, in addition, carries environmental risks.
Journalists emphasize that the ban was established based on a federal law that provides for the blocking of oil and gas production in certain territories without the possibility of reversing such a decision. Previously, this law was used to protect coral reefs and marine ecosystems.
Trump said he wants to reverse Biden’s decision to permanently ban upcoming offshore oil and gas development in parts of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
“I just found out that Biden has banned all oil and gas drilling in 625 million acres of the United States offshore. Look, this is ridiculous. I will repeal this ban immediately,” said Trump.
It will be remembered that the US President-elect Donald Trump plans to lower the price of oil, which could seriously hit Russia.
