The Rheinmetall company from Germany will supply Ukraine with shells for the Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled gun.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine ordered an additional 180 thousand 35-mm ammunition for the Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled gun from the German arms concern. The order is worth double-digit millions of euros and is financed by Germany. A new order for high-explosive incendiary shells with a tracer was received in December 2024. This was reported by the press service of Rheinmetall.
Since February 2023, this company has received an order for the supply of 300 thousand Gepard shells to Ukraine. These munitions are designed to combat aerial targets, including drones.
As of the beginning of 2025, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have 55 Gepard anti-aircraft tanks in their arsenal, which were transferred by Germany.
Rheinmetall also supplies Ukraine with various modern air defense systems, such as Skynex, which uses AHEAD programmable air blast munitions.
Let us remind you that the German defense concern Rheinmetall received a new order for the supply of 20 Marder 1A3 infantry fighting vehicles for Ukraine. The equipment is expected to be delivered in the first half of 2025.
