The US Secretary of State stressed that Putin has suffered a strategic defeat and that NATO is bigger and better resourced than ever.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Russia was seriously considering using nuclear weapons in Ukraine, but China decided against it. He said this in a commentary in the Financial Times.
Blinken said the US is “very concerned” that Putin appears to be at least considering the nuclear option.
“Even if the probability has increased from 5 to 15 percent, when it comes to nuclear weapons, there is nothing more serious … We have reason to believe that China brought Russia and said, ‘Don’t do this,’ ” said the Secretary of the United States State.
Blinken added that a similar dynamic could occur when the US tells China that Putin plans to launch nuclear weapons into space.
The US Secretary of State said that Putin has suffered a strategic defeat and that NATO is bigger and better resourced than ever.
Let’s remember that Blinken earlier revealed contradictions in China’s words and actions, expressing US concern about China’s support for Russia’s defense industrial base.
