Rolling blackouts were introduced in Transnistria

Residents of the “republic” now consume more electricity than the energy system, the local “government” explained.

In unrecognized Transnistria, rolling blackouts were introduced as Russia cut off gas supplies. It was found out on Friday, January 3.

Transnistria’s so-called “Ministry of Economic Development” announced that the shutdowns will begin today, January 3, and that they are due to the fact that residents consume more electricity than the energy system.

“This is due to the fact that the residents of the republic now consume more electricity than the energy system,” the message said.

The agency published a schedule of closures for an hour in the main cities – Tiraspol, Rybnitsa, Bendery and a number of villages.

At the same time, the population was warned that due to the duration of the technological process, the time to turn off and on the electricity may increase by another 30 minutes.

We remind you that on January 1, Ukraine suspended the transit of Russian gas. The validity of the contract in Gazprom finished As a result, gas supplies to Transnistria (left bank) via Moldova (right bank) were also stopped. Buy gas from Gazprom is its subsidiary Moldovagazwhich sent the entire amount of purchased fuel to Transnistria.

Right Bank Moldova has been buying gas for domestic needs from European suppliers for several years. And Transnistria was left without gas, heat and hot water.
