The massacre occurred in Montenegro on the evening of January 1.
In the center of Cetinje, a man opened fire in a bar, and then went out into the street and began shooting at passers-by. As a result, they were killed and injured. The cause was an ordinary domestic conflict, which then escalated into a fight. This was reported by Deutsche Welle and The Washington Post.
It is already known that 45-year-old Atso Martynovich was in the bar all day. He then went home, took the automatic weapon and returned to the establishment. There he started shooting and killed the bar owner, his children and members of his family. After that, he went out into the street and started shooting at passers-by. He subsequently disappeared. As a result of the shooting, 12 people were killed and four more were seriously injured. Among the dead were two children, 10 and 13 years old.
Police Commissioner Lazar Scepanovic said the shooter fled from the car, which was later found by law enforcement officers. It emerged that the killer received a suspended sentence in 2005 for violent behavior and was appealing his latest conviction for illegal possession of a weapon.
As the Minister of Internal Affairs of Montenegro, Daniil Saranovic, said, the shooter attempted suicide near his home in the city center. He did not die immediately, but died from his injuries on the way to the hospital.
The government of Montenegro has decided to declare January 2, 3 and 4 days of mourning.
Let us remind you that on December 20 in Germany in the city of Magdeburg there was a terrorist attack at a Christmas market – a car drove at speed into the crowd. At least 11 people were killed and about 80 people were injured.
