Poland, the Baltic countries and Finland believe that the Russian Federation is jamming GPS signals in the east of its country and in the Baltic Sea region.
A Ryanair plane bound for the Austrian capital Vienna was forced to land in the Czech Republic due to GPS problems and poor visibility. Reuters reported this on Tuesday, December 31, citing information from the carrier.
It is indicated that the Irish airline responded to a report in the Austrian media that a Ryanair flight from the Latvian capital of Riga to Vienna was redirected to the Czech Brno, allegedly due to the fact that the GPS signal was jammed in Poland due to war in Ukraine.
“Flight FR748 was diverted to Brno due to a minor technical problem with the GPS system combined with low visibility in Vienna,” Ryanair said in a statement.
The plane passengers have been put on a bus to Vienna.
It will be recalled that on Sunday, a Jeju Air flight from Bangkok skidded off the runway and crashed into a fence at Muan Airport in South Korea. After the plane crashed into the fence, the passengers were thrown out of the aircraft, so the chance of survival was very low. The plane was almost completely destroyed and it was difficult to identify the dead.
