Vladimir Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, dismissed Roman Mashovets from the post of deputy head of the Office of the President.
The corresponding decree No. 889/2024 was published today, December 30, on the president’s website.
Earlier today, NV publication reported Zelensky’s intention to fire Mashovets, citing informed sources.
According to the publication’s sources, Zelensky “has certain complaints about the work of Roman Mashovets, who oversaw the military direction in the OP.”
First of all, the president needs timely and real information from the front, information about the needs of the military, which is why Palisa (Ermak’s deputy – ed.) was elected,” the publication’s interlocutor said.
It is noted that at first there was an idea that Mashovets would oversee the international direction, because he took part in almost all of the president’s foreign visits, and the appointed deputy head of the Office of President Andrei Yermak, Colonel of the 93rd Brigade Pavel Palisa, would deal with the military, but in the end this was not the case will.
Palisa duplicates the functions of Mashovets, and from the very beginning, when Ermak invited him to the OP, it was clear that Roman would leave the OP, especially since he maintains contact with Kirill Budanov, and this was also a trigger for a long time, the source noted.
According to the publication’s interlocutor, the option is being considered that Mashovets will go to work at the Main Intelligence Directorate. But Mashovets himself did not respond to the message and did not comment on the information about his dismissal.
Mashovets was appointed to the position on April 22, 2020; according to the publication’s interlocutors, he was invited by Ermak. He was not a public official and had almost no contact with the media.
