The late music myth Prince made his voice heard at the age of 11 and not just as a novice singer.
Shots Discovered by WCCO In Minneapolis, sing praises to educators who lined up with 1970s teachers on the Strike Picket. (See segment below.)
“I think they should get more money because they work more time for us and that’s all,” the young prince said.
Production manager Matt Lyd saw the clip while reviewing old footage to provide insight into the recent teachers ’strike. The station confirmed that the boy was indeed a prince – later Prince Roger Nelson – through his childhood friend Teran Jackson.
“I was quite excited,” Jackson said after watching the clip, which called the prince as a childhood nickname Skipper.
Jackson noticed that Prince was already making music at that age. We now know that he also spoke on important issues.
Prince, the leading singer of hits like “Purple Rain”, “When Doves Cry” and “1999”, died in 2016 at the age of 57 due to a fentanyl overdose.
