About half of Ukrainians surveyed (45%) believe that Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election brings peace. This is confirmed by the results of a survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, published on Friday, December 27.
“Almost half – 45% – believe that Trump’s victory brings peace closer However, of these, 15% believe that the world is becoming closer, and the remaining 30% say that the world is becoming closer, ” said the sociologists. .
That the world, on the contrary, is becoming more distant, is said by 14% (about a significant distance – 5%, about some distance – 9%). The remaining 40% believe that nothing will change or cannot decide their opinion.
Sociologists have also asked whether, under Trump, Ukraine can count on a just peace.
Only 7% of respondents are convinced that the world can be completely fair for Ukraine, while at the same time, only 11% believe that the world will be completely unfair for Ukraine.
“The majority of Ukrainians are between these extreme opinions, and the question is more than proportional – whether there will be more compliance with the demands of Ukraine or, on the contrary, more compliance with the demands of Russia, ” noted sociologists.

Another 29% believe that there will be both the fulfillment of Ukraine’s demands and concessions to Russia, and it is difficult to say what exactly there will be more of. The remaining 18% are undecided in their opinion.
The study lasted from December 2 to December 17. Using telephone interviews, 985 respondents aged 18 years and older were interviewed in the territories controlled by Ukraine.
