The Ukrainian state has decided to support the Syrian people in a difficult time for them, the president said.

On the way to Syria there are 500 tons of wheat flour sent as part of the program Grain from Ukraine (Grain from Ukraine – ed.) in cooperation with the World Food Program (WFP). Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced this on the social network X on Friday, December 27.

“As promised, we support the Syrian people in a difficult time for them 500 tons of Ukrainian wheat flour is on its way to Syria as part of our humanitarian program Grain from Ukraine in cooperation with WFP,” he wrote .

It is planned that in the coming weeks, 33,250 Syrian families or 167 thousand people will receive flour.

“Each bundle weighs 15 kilograms and can feed a family of five members for a month,” Zelensky added and wished for the security, stability and recovery of Syria and its citizens.

It was previously known that Ukraine plans to help Syria by providing this country with grain, flour and oil. We are talking about humanitarian aid.

And this week Zelensky announced that a strategy for Syria was being developed.
