People’s Deputy Alexander Kunitsky (“Servant of the People”), who has not returned from the United States for three months, left on the basis of a “week-long business trip” from the Verkhovna Rada.
This was reported by journalists from the “Schemes” project of Radio Liberty, citing sources in law enforcement agencies and parliamentary circles. Kunitsky went on this business trip after the DBI in December 2023 began to investigate the circumstances of his other trip abroad; in the summer of 2023, when Kunitsky received permission from the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada to go on a short-term work trip to Israel, he returned only three weeks later .
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk commented to Schemes that criminal proceedings do not limit the activities of deputies. Kunitsky last voted in September during plenary sessions, and the law enforcement committee, of which he is a member, says that the last time the deputy was present was in October, via videoconference.
