A state of emergency due to a fuel oil spill was introduced in the occupied Crimea and the Krasnodar region of Russia.
The day before, 10 dead Azov dolphins were found on the Black Sea coast, which in Ukraine are listed in the Red Book, and in the world they have the status of animals in a dangerous situation. The release of oil products onto the shore “has been prolonged and does not stop.” This was stated by the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratyev, Russian media reported.
Let us remind you that the fuel oil spill occurred due to the accident of two Russian tankers in the Kerch Strait. Two Russian tankers “Volgoneft-212” and “Volgoneft-239” crashed on December 15, when the wave height reached 2 m.
Both vessels were carrying a low-quality petroleum product known as fuel oil. As a result, more than 4 thousand 300 tons of heavy fuel oil spilled into the Black Sea. Oil products polluted about 55 km of coastline.
