The Russian Federal Security Service says it has foiled a series of assassination attempts on senior Russian Ministry of Defense officials, allegedly orchestrated by Ukrainian intelligence services. This was reported by the FSB press service on Thursday, December 26.

The FSB says the man planned to blow up the car of a Russian military man with a bomb disguised as a power bank. He allegedly came to Moscow from Ukraine “traveling through Moldova and Georgia under the guise of a deported person.”
They allegedly planned to detonate another official of the Russian Ministry of Defense who was posing as a folder with documents. Two men have been detained in connection with this episode.
A resident of Moscow, who allegedly monitored the places of residence and work of senior military personnel of the Russian Ministry of Defense and members of their families and transferred the collected data to the special services of Ukrainian.
Let’s remember that on December 17, the head of the radiation, chemical and biological protection troops, Igor Kirillov, was killed in Moscow. Russian special services were detained on suspicion of murdering a citizen of Uzbekistan, allegedly hired by Ukrainian special services, promising him 100 thousand dollars.
