Ukraine is doing everything to make 2025 a year of just and lasting peace for our state and the whole world, Zelensky assured.
On Christmas Eve, President Vladimir Zelensky had a telephone conversation with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. The Office of the Head of State reported this on Tuesday, December 24.
Zelensky expressed gratitude to His All-Holiness for the spiritual support of Ukraine and prayers for the Ukrainian people and congratulated the Patriarch on the upcoming holidays – Christmas and New Year.
“Ukraine is doing everything to make 2025 a year of fair and lasting peace for our state and the whole world,” he added.
The head of state also noted the patriarchy’s steps to strengthen support for Ukraine among the world’s religious community and efforts to gain spiritual freedom for our state.
In turn, Patriarch Bartholomew wished the Ukrainian people strength, courage and God’s blessings and wished them a Merry Christmas.
It will be recalled that the Ecumenical Patriarchate joined the joint communique of the countries following the outcome of the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland.
