The words of the capital professor caused a storm of criticism in social networks, where he was accused of sexism.
Nikita Vasilenko, a teacher at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Journalism of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, got into a scandal because of statements about “hungry Ukrainian women” who, for one reason or another, were left behind without men and foreign peacekeepers. who should “solve the demographic problem” in Ukraine. Vasilenko made this statement on air for the Russian media politnavigator.net, access to which has been blocked in Ukraine since 2018.
So, the professor said that foreign peacekeepers, “who have not been tested on the front, but raised on good food in Europe,” will be interested in “thousands of hungry Ukrainian women.”
“Imagine – at least forty thousand men with money, “hungry” for women who did not pass the front test, brought good products to Europe and hundreds of thousands of “hungry” Ukrainian women without time who left for one reason or another, men who died in the war or were wounded,” said the professor.
He also compared foreign peacekeepers to the German military, where the children were “born” after World War II
“People who survived the occupation said that after the war, the “Fritz” children were born in the Dnepropetrovsk region – a whole generation,” said Vasilenko.
Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets responded to Vasilenko’s words. He said that the professors should be investigated by the competent authorities, especially the SBU, and recalled that this was not the first scandal in which he was involved.
“I am responding to his statement for the second time – I wrote letters to the Ministry of Education and Science with the aim of conducting state supervision (control) of the activities of the educational institution and the university with a request to conduct a internal I also see the need to contact the SBU unethical behavior, so it must be checked and the competent authorities must respond properly! – stressed the ombudsman.
In turn, on the Telegram channel of the Student Parliament of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Journalism, the students published a statement saying that they were announcing a boycott of the institute’s administration “in connection with Vasilenko’s systematic speeches” on the pro-Russian platform, sexist statements and promotion of Russian narratives.
It was noted that from December 23, 2024 until the moment of his release, the student parliament: refused to cooperate with the administration of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Journalism, demanding an immediate response to the statement and ensuring the protection of the academic community from the influence of people who discredit the journalistic profession and the national interest of Ukraine.
Earlier, at the Ternopil National Pedagogical University named after Vladimir Hnatyuk, a course was suspended, the teacher of which was involved in a scandal due to sexist statements.
Earlier it was reported that the general director of the Yakaboo bookstore, Ivan Bogdan, who, speaking at the panel discussion, Ukrainian Book: After the War, Away from Moscow, made a sexist judgment, saying that he would leave his position.
