This airfield serves as a base for front-line aviation, which performs support tasks for the Russian infantry operating in eastern and southern Ukraine.
Millerovo airfield in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation is under attack, gunshots and explosions are heard. This was announced by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council Andrei Kovalenko on Monday, December 23.
“Disco” at Millerovo airfield. For Russia, this is a strategic airport in the Rostov region,” said Kovalenko.
Kovalenko noted that this airport serves as a base for front-line aviation, which performs tasks to support the Russian infantry operating in the east and south of Ukraine.
In this regard, social networks also confirm the drone attack. In particular, the Russian TG channel Astra, citing a statement by the acting governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, reports that as a result of the ongoing attack on Millerovo, which began at nine o’clock at night local time on Monday, “there were no casualties.”
The Russians said eight drones were shot down in the city, while mobile fire teams continued to fight the attack.
At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense traditionally reports all alleged downed UAVs.
We remind you that recently a military airport in the Saratov region of Russia was attacked by unknown drones.
Also on the night of December 4, drones attacked two important military installations in Ryazan and Novorossiysk.
