What do you need to know about proper vaccine storage? What conditions are important to prevent a vaccine from becoming a killer?
The pharmaceutical distributor “BaDM” talks about the main things you need to pay attention to for safe vaccination.
Why is vaccination important for health?
Vaccination is a simple and reliable way to protect yourself and your loved ones from dangerous diseases. It helps not only to prevent disease, but also to prevent serious complications that can threaten life and health.
In Ukraine, a National Calendar of Preventive Vaccinations was developed, which contains the time of mandatory vaccinations against 10 diseases. It is an important tool to protect public health that everyone is encouraged to follow. The effectiveness and safety of the use of vaccines directly depends on the conditions of storage and transportation.
The BaDM company has successfully carried out this mission and provides medicines, including vaccines, more than 18,000 pharmacies and medical institutions. The distributor creates the necessary storage conditions in its own pharmacy warehouses in 10 regions of Ukraine. Compliance with international standards has been confirmed by GDP certification since 2012.

What conditions are required for the storage of vaccines?
The entire path of the vaccine from the manufacturer to the consumer requires a special approach. Important to consider thermolability this drug, that is, high sensitivity to temperature changes. Even slight fluctuations can make the vaccine ineffective or dangerous for the patient.
To avoid such risks, a system is used “cold chain”. The system ensures strict adherence to optimal temperatures at all stages – from production to administering the vaccine to the patient. An important role in this process is played by the distributor, who has the experience and resources to provide all the necessary storage and transportation conditions.

The pharmaceutical distributor “BaDM” uses professional equipment to maintain the “cold chain”: refrigeration chambers, freezers, thermal containers, refrigerated vehicles, cold elements and instrumentation.
How is the quality of vaccines ensured during wartime?
All BaDM LLC pharmacy warehouses are equipped with backup power supply channels: powerful diesel generators, backup power supply lines, solar panels. Power outages and shelling hazards do not threaten to reduce vaccine storage quality requirements.
Temperature monitoring in pharmaceutical warehouses is controlled by automated equipment and an alarm system. If critical temperature limits are reached, an audible alarm will be triggered and SMS messages will be sent to responsible employees with a clear plan for the necessary actions.

As mentioned Alexander Kuznetsovregional director of the Central region of the Company: “We understand how important the quality of vaccines is for the health of the country. right to work with heat-labile drugs has access to refrigeration equipment, according to the order for the enterprise.”
Can I buy and store the vaccine myself?
You can buy the vaccine at a pharmacy, but only with a doctor’s prescription. It is also necessary to have a thermal container so as not to interfere with the temperature regime. The vaccine is administered in the vaccination rooms of medical institutions with strict adherence to all rules.
The quality department of BaDM LLC emphasizes: “The household refrigerators you have at home are not intended for the storage of vaccines. In different areas of the refrigerator, the temperature may vary and negatively affect the quality of the medicine as soon as possible after receiving the vaccine in the pharmacy, saving it exclusively in a thermal container with a cold element.”
Timely vaccination preserves health and saves lives. The pharmaceutical distributor works 24/7 to ensure that all Ukrainians, including front-line territories, have these opportunities.
