Ukraine received a tranche of 4.1 billion euros from the EU as part of the Ukraine Facility program.
The second regular payment allocated by the European Commission within this instrument arrived on 18 December. This tranche was the result of Kyiv’s implementation of all measures determined by the Ukrainian plan. Prime Minister Denis Shmigal announced this on Telegram.
According to the head of government, total assistance under the Ukraine Facility initiative in 2024 amounts to 16.1 billion euros. In total, it provides for the provision of 50 billion euros to Ukraine, and the program itself will operate until 2027.
“We thank the EU for its unwavering support for Ukraine, which is of great importance for strengthening the country’s economic stability and transformation on the path to full membership in the EU,” the head of the Cabinet noted.
Let us remind you that on December 9, the EU Council approved the provision of a new tranche to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program for 4.2 billion euros of grants and loans in support of macro-financial stability. Ukraine receives these funds by fulfilling conditions in accordance with the recovery, reconstruction and modernization plan, as well as the reforms it plans to implement as part of the EU accession process over the next four years.
